The new exhibition center: an integrated economic complex at 47 billion dinars

Finally, a new Palace of exhibitions and fairs for Algiers and at the height of the economic ambitions of the country. It is indeed an old strategic project which materializes with the laying of its first stone by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during his inauguration, on December 13, of the Algerian Production Fair. (FPA 2022).

Detailed figures of the project were delivered for the first time this Thursday by the adviser to the CEO of Safex (Algerian Society of Fairs and Exhibitions), Mr. Karim Boukadoum, during his appearance on the program L’invité de la editor of channel 3 of the Algerian Radio.

We will thus know that the old project, already mentioned since at least 2016, will be erected on the same current site while rehabilitating the old buildings. “The work had progressed well in 2017”, before experiencing a slowdown, or even a total stop, according to Mr. Boukadoum. The latter has just attested that the recovery is being “dazzling” under the impetus of the President of the Republic.

With an estimated cost of 47 billion dinars, the first module of the building will be ready “in 24 to 36 months”, estimated the speaker, adding that the exhibition area will be spread over “90,000 m2 while preserving the old pavilions which will be rehabilitated over 25,000 m2”, he wishes to specify.

The complex will include, among other things, “four office towers, three hotels, a leisure park and a shopping mall…all covering more than 54 hectares”, he said.

He adds that “the services part will be carried out in partnership mode, the specifications of which are being developed”.
