The President of the Italian Council of State Emphasizes Strong Bilateral Ties with Algeria

Algiers, September 11, 2023 – Luigi Maruotti, the President of the Italian Council of State, conveyed his thoughts on the enduring relationship between Italy and Algeria, as well as the depth of their bilateral partnership during his visit to Algiers. His remarks came during a meeting with Basma Azouar, the Minister for Relations with Parliament, reaffirming the strong bond between the two nations.

Maruotti commenced his discussion by underscoring the profound friendship that unites Algeria and Italy, expressing Italy’s profound appreciation for Algeria’ strategic position and role in maintaining equilibrium on various international issues. He noted, “Algeria and Italy are linked by ties of deep friendship, and Algeria’s position is very important for Italy in order to create balances on several issues.” This statement highlights the significance of Algeria as a diplomatic partner in Italy’s foreign policy objectives.

The twinning program between the Ministry of Relations with Parliament and the Italian Council of State was another significant topic of discussion. Maruotti emphasized the remarkable achievements that have arisen from this collaborative initiative, which fosters cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two nations.
