The President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), the Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, honored the President of the Algerian Red Crescent, Ibtissam Hamlaoui, with the Shield of Distinction for Humanitarian Action, thus becoming the first personality Algerian to be honored with this shield.
Hamlaoui was honored for his efforts in the ongoing humanitarian support to Sahrawi refugees.
On this occasion, the President of the Algerian Red Crescent expressed her sincere thanks to the Saharawi authorities for this honor, renewing her permanent support for the Saharawi people.
For his part, the president of the Saharawi Red Crescent, Bouhbini Yahya Boujbini, considered this honor as a pledge of permanent loyalty towards the Saharawi people on the part of Algeria, and of the Algerian Red Crescent Foundation, which does not spared no effort to come to the aid of Sahrawi refugees in the most complex stages.
The Saharawi news agency also praised the Algerian Red Crescent, considering it the first support of the Saharawi people since the beginning of their suffering with displacement and asylum following the Moroccan invasion of their lands on 31 October 1975, to find shelter and residence in the land of Algeria, warm welcome and hospitality.
