Algiers, Algeria– Sunday, July 13, 2025 | In a meeting convened to monitor the disbursement of the special school allowance, Algeria’s Minister of National Solidarity, the Family and the Status of Women, Soraya Mouloudji, called for immediate and coordinated action to ensure that the country’s most vulnerable families receive the financial support they need before the upcoming school year.

Chaired by the Minister herself, the meeting brought together key stakeholders from the Ministry, the regional Social Action Directorates (DAS), and the Social Development Agency (ADS). The primary focus was to assess the progress of the allowance distribution process and to guarantee that administrative bottlenecks do not hinder families from accessing this essential support.

Minister Mouloudji emphasized the imperative of intersectoral coordination, underlining the urgency of aligning the efforts of local authorities, social welfare services, and educational institutions. “We must act with speed, precision, and full commitment to our social duty. Ensuring timely access to this school grant is not only a matter of financial aid—it is a question of dignity and educational equity for our children,” she asserted during the meeting.

A strong appeal was made to the staff of the DAS and ADS structures across the country, urging them to fully mobilize in the coming days and proactively support families in navigating the procedures and registration protocols required to benefit from the allowance. This includes providing on-the-ground assistance, guidance, and logistical support, particularly in remote or underserved areas.

To enhance the efficiency of the process, the Minister issued clear instructions regarding the updating of pre-submitted files at the municipal level. She emphasized the importance of verifying and completing documentation to avoid unnecessary delays or disqualifications. Furthermore, she called for an expedited and consistent transfer of school data files from educational institutions to the social action offices responsible for data entry and eligibility processing.

This measure aims to streamline the data flow between sectors and ensure that all potential beneficiaries are accurately accounted for in the system. The Minister also underscored the need to leverage existing digital tools and communication networks to accelerate the flow of information and improve coordination at both the central and local levels.
