Transport Minister Sayoud Urges Reinforcement of “Logitrans” Fleet to Bolster Fuel Supply to the South

Algiers, Algeria | Minister of Transport Saïd Sayoud has called for the strengthening of the “Logitrans” group’s fleet as part of a national strategy to enhance transport capacity to Algeria’s southern regions. The move, he emphasised, is vital to ensuring a steady and uninterrupted supply of fuel—an essential lifeline for both residents and key infrastructure in these vast territories.

Speaking on the matter, Sayoud underscored “the necessity of increasing the operational readiness of the fleet and equipping it with the necessary resources, while deepening coordination among various stakeholders to guarantee greater efficiency on the ground.”

He stressed the importance of sustained field presence, urging continuous monitoring of operations and the establishment of dedicated follow-up units in southern wilayas to supervise logistics and ensure seamless fuel delivery.

The minister also issued directives to maintain service continuity, prioritising the needs of both the population and vital institutions. This approach, he noted, reflects the State’s commitment to “ensuring comprehensive and regular coverage of essential services, while advancing balanced development across all regions of the country—particularly in the South.”
