ALGIERS- In a progressive step towards enhancing accessibility to travel documents, the Financial Law for the year 2024 in Algeria includes substantial reductions in the fiscal stamp fees applied to 48-page passports.

As outlined in Article 32 of the law, the amount has been set at 45,000 Algerian Dinars for obtaining a 48-page passport through the fast-track procedure, and 9,000 instead of 12,000 Algerian Dinars for the regular procedure granted within Algeria.

According to the same source, the cost reduction extends to passports issued to minors, significantly lowering the expense to 4,500 instead of 6,000 Algerian Dinars for a 48-page passport through the regular procedure.

Passports for minors are issued through the fast-track procedure, with a cost of 22,500 Dinars for the 48-page booklet.

This move is expected to alleviate financial burdens on citizens seeking travel documents and promote accessibility to passports for both adults and minors. The fee reductions aim to facilitate the process of obtaining passports and contribute to making travel more accessible for the Algerian population.
