The outlet described him as “a morally bankrupt figure” who has chosen to side with the oppressor while ignoring the cries of the oppressed.

Commentators and media analysts were particularly appalled by Sifaoui’s silence on the humanitarian disaster unfolding in Gaza—where hospitals are overwhelmed, families are being buried beneath rubble, and the population suffers under a full blockade. “His defense of the Zionist military campaign ignores the asymmetry of power, the illegality of the occupation, and the historic context of Palestinian dispossession,” one Algerian academic wrote.

While Sifaoui frequently portrays himself as a defender of secularism, many now view him as complicit in the normalization of war crimes, using the language of democracy to sanitize the systematic targeting of civilians.

Critics also emphasize that such media rhetoric not only fuels misinformation but emboldens the Zionist entity’s continued aggression by offering Western public opinion a distorted moral lens through which to view the conflict.
