University Entrepreneurship Surges: 96 Student Projects Greenlighted Across Algeria in Just Ten Days

Algiers – November 2025 – Algeria’s higher education sector is asserting itself as a pivotal driver of economic revitalization, demonstrating that universities are no longer mere diploma-granting institutions, but engines of industrial, scientific, and entrepreneurial growth. Between 26 October and 6 November 2025—a mere ten days—no fewer than 96 student-led projects were launched across a spectrum of sectors including industry, agriculture, services, healthcare, construction and public works, sports, tourism, pharmacy, communications, and liberal professions. These initiatives span the national territory, reflecting a widespread commitment to economic innovation.
Following rigorous evaluations by the Selection, Validation, and Funding Committee (CSVF), the 96 projects received official approval and financing. Among the approved initiatives were five projects at Mohamed-Lamine Debaghine University in Sétif 2, covering medicine, industry, and agriculture, four projects at Ferhat Abbas University in Sétif 1, and one project at Ahmed Zabana University in Relizane in the construction sector. Other institutions, from Bechar to Oran, Oum El Bouaghi, El Tarf, Tipaza, M’Sila, Ain Temouchent, Boumerdès, Saida, Naama, and across the capital and regions, collectively contributed to this unprecedented wave of innovation, with projects spanning health, industry, agriculture, services, BTP, pharmacy, and sports.
This surge highlights the vibrancy of university entrepreneurship and underscores the active role of students in creating emergent enterprises under the support frameworks of NESDA and CSVF. More broadly, it demonstrates a strategic political commitment to leverage academic institutions as catalysts for national economic recovery while simultaneously reinforcing national security across multiple domains.
