Algiers – December 2025 – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, announced on Thursday the introduction of new academic programs at Ali-Kafi University in Tindouf, emphasizing the strategic adaptation of curricula to the specificities and developmental priorities of the region.
Highlighting the critical role of applied education in national development, Minister Baddari stressed the imperative of establishing a mining engineering program at the Tindouf campus, aimed at cultivating specialized competencies for the exploitation of the Gara Djebilet iron deposit, alongside related industrial and technical activities.
In a strong appeal to the university community, Baddari encouraged students to actively engage in scientific research and innovation, urging them to present viable solutions to enterprises in order to secure financial backing and contribute meaningfully to the regional and national economy.
During his visit, the minister conducted an extensive tour of the university’s incubator, liaison office, entrepreneurship development center, and the Artificial Intelligence House, engaging directly with students, faculty, and researchers to discuss the alignment of academic initiatives with emerging technological and economic opportunities.
