Weather Alert: Rain, Snow Expected Across Central, Eastern Algeria

Algiers – December 2025 – Residents of Algeria are advised to prepare for variable weather conditions on Thursday, December 4, 2025, as Algeria Weather forecasts a mix of rain, snow, and icy conditions across the country.
In the western regions, light fog and low clouds are expected during the morning, gradually giving way to generally overcast skies. By late afternoon, the coastal and inland areas may experience scattered showers, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms. Authorities warn of potential ice formation on the High Plateaus of the West during the morning hours, which could pose hazards for drivers and pedestrians alike.
The central regions will witness partly dense cloud cover, with rainfall along the coast and interior areas extending to the High Plateaus by late afternoon. Rainfall is expected to intensify in the evening, while snowfall is anticipated over elevated areas exceeding 1,400 meters. These conditions may impact transport and daily activities, particularly in mountainous communities.
Eastern Algeria, including coastal and interior territories, will experience predominantly cloudy skies with intermittent heavy showers, sometimes thunderous. Dense cloud passages will affect the High Plateaus and the Aurès Mountains, with occasional rainfall and snowfall above 1,400 meters. Residents are urged to exercise caution in affected areas and anticipate disruptions.
In the oases, scattered cloud cover with light rainfall is expected, while most other areas will experience generally clear to partially veiled skies.
Temperature projections indicate a wide range of conditions: morning temperatures will vary between 6°C and 15°C along the coast, 5°C to 14°C in inland and High Plateau regions, and 10°C to 26°C across the Sahara. Afternoon readings are expected to remain similar along the coast (6°C–15°C), slightly cooler inland and on the High Plateaus (4°C–15°C), and 11°C–26°C in the Sahara. Nighttime temperatures will range from 7°C to 15°C on the coast, 1°C to 13°C inland and on the High Plateaus, and 7°C to 18°C in desert areas.
