ALGIERS- In a press release issued this Monday, the General Directorate of the Civil Service announced that Wednesday, November 1, will be a paid day off to commemorate the anniversary of the outbreak of the war of liberation.

According to the press release, this decision is in line with the provisions of law 63-278 of July 26, 1963, which establishes the legal holidays. The day of Wednesday, November 1, 2023, will be considered a paid non-working day for all employees across various sectors, including public and private institutions, administrations, establishments, offices, and companies. This includes both full-time and hourly employees.

Furthermore, the press release emphasizes that the aforementioned institutions, administrations, establishments, offices, and companies must make necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth functioning of services that operate in shift work mode.

It is important to note that this decision aims to provide employees with the opportunity to celebrate Revolution Day while adhering to the legal provisions regarding paid holidays.

By implementing this measure, the General Directorate of the Civil Service recognizes the significance of the war of liberation and acknowledges the importance of granting employees the time to commemorate this historic event.

In order to maintain uninterrupted services, the concerned organizations are required to make appropriate arrangements to ensure the continuity of operations during this day.
