WTO-MED Conference on Energy: Mohamed Arkab Expected in Italy

ALGIERS- The Minister of Energy and Mines is scheduled to embark on a working visit to Italy, where he will actively participate in the WTO-MED Conference on Energy. This conference is set to take place from October 24 to 26 in the city of Ravenna, as stated in a press release issued by the ministry.

Accompanying the minister will be the CEOs of the Sonatrach and Sonelgaz Groups, along with other high-ranking officials from the ministry, as specified in the document. On Wednesday, October 24, Mohamed Arkab will deliver a speech on the topic of “new scenarios and current emergencies: Focus on the results of COP27 with a view to COP28.”

The Mediterranean Energy Conference and Exhibition, a biennial event held in Ravenna, serves as a global platform for various exhibitions, meetings, and workshops in the oil and energy sectors.

Distinguished attendees at this event will include Antonio Tajani, the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Kadri Simson, the European Commissioner for Energy, Tarek El Molla, the Egyptian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, George Papanastasiou, the Cypriot Minister of Energy, as well as top executives from major energy companies. During this occasion, Mohamed Arkab will engage in several meetings with his counterparts and CEOs of prominent energy companies.
