Strong Performances in Taolu and Sanda Secure Algeria a Spot on the Podium Behind Hosts Egypt and Tunisia

Algiers, Algeria | May 6th, 2025 — Algeria’s national Wushu and Kung Fu team delivered an outstanding performance at the African Wushu Championship, which concluded yesterday in Cairo, Egypt, by securing an impressive third place overall in the team rankings. This success places Algeria just behind the host nation Egypt and regional powerhouse Tunisia, marking a significant achievement for the Algerian delegation in a highly competitive continental event.

Held in the Egyptian capital, the championship saw participation from nine African nations, each fielding elite athletes in the dynamic and demanding disciplines of Taolu (choreographed routines) and Sanda (full-contact combat).

Throughout the multi-day competition, the Algerian contingent demonstrated remarkable skill, discipline, and determination, earning multiple titles and podium finishes across both styles. The athletes, representing the national federation with pride and resilience, stood out for their technical excellence in Taolu and fighting prowess in Sanda, earning admiration from both judges and spectators.

Officials from the Algerian Wushu Federation hailed the result as a testament to the growing strength of the national program, praising the athletes, coaching staff, and support teams for their unwavering commitment and preparation.
