Key Ministers and Customs Chief Join Forces with Algiers Wali to Accelerate Project Oversight and Infrastructure Development

Algiers, Algeria | May 26th, 2025 — In a demonstration of the Algerian government’s commitment to multisectoral coordination and accelerated infrastructure development, a high-level ministerial delegation began a working visit to Algiers this Monday, May 26, 2025. The visit was initiated under the direct supervision of the Wali of Algiers, Mohamed Abdennour Rabhi, who welcomed the distinguished delegation at the headquarters of the Wilaya.

According to official communiqués issued by the Wilaya of Algiers, the delegation includes pivotal national figures whose portfolios are central to Algeria’s strategic economic, commercial, and logistical sectors. Participating in this joint mission are the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Domestic Trade and Market Regulation, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, as well as the Director General of Customs, Major General Abdelhafid Bakhouche.

This high-profile working session is part of a larger nationwide effort to rigorously follow up on the implementation of structural projects, boost operational efficiency, and align development initiatives with the broader goals outlined in President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s national recovery agenda. The capital, as Algeria’s nerve center of governance, commerce, and urban development, has been prioritized for direct ministerial oversight to ensure that flagship projects are executed in a timely and transparent manner.

The visit comes at a critical juncture, as Algeria intensifies efforts to modernize its trade infrastructure, enhance customs operations, streamline transportation networks, and bolster non-hydrocarbon exports through coordinated policy measures.
