Iraq’s Special Envoy Delivers Official Invitation for May 17 Gathering of Arab Leaders
Algiers, Algeria | April 30th, 2025 — President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has received an official invitation to attend the upcoming Arab League Summit scheduled to take place in Baghdad on May 17, 2025. The invitation was personally delivered on Monday by the Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Planning of Iraq, Mr. Muhammad Ali Tamim, who is also serving as the special envoy of Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid.
The meeting was held at the Presidential Palace in Algiers and was attended by senior Algerian officials, including the Director of the Cabinet of the Presidency, Boualem Boualem; the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf; as well as the chargé d’affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Algeria.
In a press statement following the meeting, Mr. Muhammad Ali Tamim confirmed: “I am honored to deliver a written invitation from His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Iraq, addressed to His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, inviting him to attend the upcoming Arab League Summit in Baghdad. I also conveyed the warm greetings and respect of the President of Iraq and the Prime Minister.”
He added, “We are earnestly looking forward to President Tebboune’s participation at the Baghdad summit. God willing, we will welcome him soon in Iraq to join this pivotal Arab gathering.”
