Systematic Erasure: Five More Journalists Executed by the Zionist Entity in Ongoing Gaza Genocide

As the death toll surpasses 53,000, the Zionist Entity intensifies its war on truth by deliberately targeting journalists—silencing voices and concealing crimes behind a shroud of global complicity.

Algiers, Algeria | May 18th, 2025 — In yet another grievous chapter of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the Zionist Entity has deliberately assassinated five more Palestinian journalists in less than 24 hours, reaffirming its systematic policy of eradicating voices that dare to document its crimes. As of Sunday, May 18, 2025, the number of slain journalists has reached 222 since the beginning of the brutal invasion—an unprecedented assault on the journalistic profession and the right to truth.

The most recent martyrs of this genocidal campaign are Aziz al-Hajjar, who was martyred alongside his wife and children in a deliberate airstrike on his home in the Saftawi area of northern Gaza, and Abdul Rahman Al-Abadlah, who was assassinated during a bombardment targeting the city of Al-Qarara in southern Gaza’s Khan Yunis.

These were soon followed by news of three more journalists murdered—Ahmed al-Zinati, Nour Qandil, and Khaled Abu Seif—raising the total number of journalists executed on that single day to five. From north to south, the Gaza Strip is witnessing a campaign of calculated annihilation not only against civilians but against those whose sacred mission is to inform the world.

The message is brutally clear: the Zionist regime will stop at nothing to obliterate any testimony or documentation of its war crimes. Journalists have become frontline targets in this campaign of extermination. Their homes are no longer sanctuaries, and their press vests offer no shield from missiles and bullets. In Gaza, to carry a camera or a notepad is to hold a death sentence.

As this extermination unfolds, world leaders convene in summits and issue toothless declarations, all while ensuring that no meaningful action ever sees the light of day. Their failure to act, and in many cases, their continued political, diplomatic, and military support for the Zionist Entity, amounts to active complicity in genocide. The international legal system, once a beacon of accountability, is gasping its final breath—buried alongside Gaza’s children beneath the rubble of bombed-out neighborhoods.

On Sunday alone, over 53,272 people have been confirmed killed in Gaza, with 120,673 others injured, the majority of them women and children. These numbers reflect not collateral damage, but a deliberate strategy of population erasure. Behind every statistic lies a shattered family, a vanished community, a silenced voice.

Adding to this escalating horror, war criminal Benyamin Netanyahu—already the subject of an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant—has announced yet another massive military offensive. At its core is a renewed focus on exterminating the truth, through the intensified targeting of journalists who refuse to abandon their ethical commitment to bear witness.

As Gaza bleeds, the Zionist Entity accelerates its war not only on Palestinians but on humanity’s conscience. The silence of the global community is not neutrality—it is betrayal. To remain passive is to stand with the perpetrators, not the victims. In Gaza today, the struggle for survival is not just physical—it is a fight for truth against a regime that thrives on lies and destruction.
