Algerian Constitutional Court President Meets Spanish Ambassador to Strengthen Cooperation in Constitutional Justice

ALGIERS – The President of Algeria’s Constitutional Court, Leïla Aslaoui, received Spain’s ambassador to Algeria, Ramiro Fernández, on Sunday for a courtesy visit aimed at reinforcing bilateral cooperation in the field of constitutional justice.
The meeting, held at the Constitutional Court’s headquarters in Algiers, was attended by the institution’s Secretary General and several of its members, according to a statement issued by the court.
During the discussions, both sides highlighted the depth and strength of the historical ties between Algeria and Spain and explored ways to further enhance cooperation across various sectors, with particular emphasis on constitutional justice.
The talks also provided an opportunity to exchange views on mechanisms for strengthening collaboration in promoting constitutional culture and advancing institutional cooperation between the two countries.
The two parties underlined the importance of maintaining consultation, sharing expertise and developing training initiatives in areas related to constitutional law and judicial practice.
According to the statement, the discussions reflected a shared commitment to further strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between Algeria’s Constitutional Court and its Spanish counterpart.
The meeting forms part of broader efforts to expand institutional dialogue and deepen legal and judicial cooperation between Algeria and Spain.
