Bayer Seeks to Expand Its Presence in Algeria Amid Pharmaceutical Investment Opportunities

ALGIERS – The German pharmaceutical group Bayer has expressed interest in strengthening its presence in the Algerian market, according to a statement from the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry.
Bayer Vice President Mildred Nader Beita was received on Sunday in Algiers by Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry Ouassim Kouidri, in a meeting that reviewed the state of existing cooperation between Algeria and Germany in the pharmaceutical sector, particularly through the local subsidiary Bayer Algeria.
The discussions also explored prospects for expanding bilateral partnership in line with national policy orientations aimed at reinforcing health sovereignty, as outlined by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The minister reaffirmed the authorities’ commitment to supporting economic partners and creating favourable conditions for high value-added investments in the sector.
According to the same source, the meeting highlighted Algeria’s ongoing efforts to develop its pharmaceutical industry and strengthen local production capacities.
For her part, the Bayer vice president expressed the group’s interest in expanding its activities in Algeria, praising the sector’s current momentum and the promising investment and partnership opportunities it offers, particularly in the context of growing demand and industrial development policies.
