Algerian Foreign Ministry Secretary-General Lounès Magramane took part Thursday via videoconference in the Med9++ ministerial meeting, representing Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf, according to a ministry statement.
The session, co-chaired by Italy and Croatia, focused on food security and resilience of energy and fertiliser supply chains amid global pressures on agricultural inputs.
It brought together foreign ministers from Arab, EU and Western Balkan countries, alongside representatives of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and regional partners.
Magramane highlighted investment in fertiliser production as key to strengthening food security, calling for expanded national capacities and deeper technical cooperation.
