BY Dr. Hana Saada
Algeria’s Economic Renewal Council (CREA) held talks with US officials and state representatives at the SelectUSA Investment Summit in Maryland, focusing on expanding industrial and technology investment cooperation, according to a statement Thursday.
CREA President Kamel Moula met US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce Thomas Bruns, in the presence of US chargé d’affaires in Algiers Mark Shapiro, alongside discussions with US state delegations, including Mississippi.
US officials highlighted the strength of bilateral economic ties and called for deeper business engagement with Algeria, including proposals for structured annual follow-up mechanisms to track joint projects and investment flows.
Moula presented Algeria’s ongoing economic reforms, particularly in the industrial sector, and said the country is seeking high-value, technology-intensive partnerships across diversified sectors.
Discussions with Mississippi representatives covered potential cooperation in agriculture and energy-linked value chains, reflecting US state-level interest in Algeria’s evolving investment landscape.
The engagement forms part of Algeria’s broader push to attract higher-value foreign investment and deepen integration into global industrial and technology networks.
