Turkish Investment Momentum in Algeria Exceeds 90 Projects Since 2022 — AAPI
BY Dr. Hana Saada
Algeria’s Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) said more than 90 Turkish investment projects have been registered since the entry into force of the country’s new investment law in 2022, reflecting sustained foreign investor interest in the Algerian market.
Speaking Thursday in Ankara at the Algerian-Turkish Business Forum, AAPI Director-General Omar Rekkache said around 30 additional Turkish companies are currently developing new projects under study, underscoring what he described as growing confidence in Algeria’s investment environment.
He said the strong Turkish presence in Algeria reflects deepening trust between economic operators in both countries and confirms Algeria’s attractiveness, particularly in industrial production, construction and services sectors.
Rekkache added that this investment base is forming a platform for expanded joint projects with higher value-added integration, aligned with Algeria’s push to diversify its economy and strengthen its industrial and agricultural base while encouraging innovation and private sector participation.
He pointed to ongoing structural reforms aimed at improving the business climate under presidential oversight, including streamlined administrative procedures, reduced processing times, digitalisation of services and the establishment of a one-stop shop for investors across project stages.
He also cited strengthened legal stability and investment protection mechanisms designed to provide long-term visibility and safeguard investor rights.
Rekkache said the Algerian-Turkish Business Forum, bringing together more than 300 economic operators, represents a step toward deeper bilateral economic integration based on complementarity and joint value creation.
He reaffirmed AAPI’s readiness to support investors and convert available opportunities into productive investments and long-term partnerships with tangible economic impact.
