Erdogan Praises Algeria’s Support For Palestinian Cause During Strategic Talks With Tebboune

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday in Ankara praised Algeria’s support for the Palestinian cause, underscoring close alignment with Algiers on regional and African issues during joint statements with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the inaugural Algerian-Turkish High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
Erdoğan said both countries remain among the strongest backers of a two-state solution, recalling the 1988 proclamation of the State of Palestine in Algiers, and commended Algeria’s role at the UN Security Council over the past two years.
He said the Zionist aggression in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon highlights the Zionist entity’s expansionist policies as the main driver of regional insecurity and repeated breaches of international law.
Erdoğan added that Algeria and Turkey share a unified stance on the need to halt the cycle of violence and reinforce regional stability, citing mutual respect, historical ties and political convergence as the basis of expanding bilateral coordination.
The remarks came as both countries deepen structured cooperation across political, economic and regional files under an increasingly institutionalised partnership framework.
