Algeria’s Constitutional Court Receives Provisional Parliamentary Election Results as FLN Leads 2026 Legislative Poll

Algiers — Algeria’s Constitutional Court has received the provisional results of the 2 July 2026 legislative elections, officially transmitted by the National Independent Election Authority (ANIE), marking the beginning of the constitutional review process before the announcement of the final results.
The provisional results were handed over on Tuesday by Karim Khalfane, Acting President of ANIE, to Leïla Aslaoui, President of the Constitutional Court, during a meeting attended by members of both institutions.
Earlier in the day, ANIE announced the preliminary allocation of the 407 seats in the People’s National Assembly (APN), with the National Liberation Front (FLN) emerging as the largest parliamentary force.
FLN Leads, Followed by RND and El Moustakbal
According to the provisional results, the FLN secured 90 seats, followed by the National Democratic Rally (RND) with 73 seats and the Future Front ( El Moustakbal Front) with 59 seats.
The Movement of Society for Peace (MSP) won 43 seats, while the El Bina Movement obtained 38 seats. Independent candidates secured 32 seats.

Renewed Parliamentary Profile
ANIE said the incoming legislature will feature a renewed composition, including 312 university graduates, 128 young deputies and 23 women, reflecting changes in the profile of parliamentary representation.
Participation and Election Figures
According to ANIE, 23,872,756 voters were registered inside Algeria, with voter turnout reaching 21.24%.
The authority reported 4,160,790 valid ballots, alongside 910,230 invalid ballots and 1,095 disputed votes.
A total of 739 electoral lists representing 9,422 candidates contested the elections across the country. ANIE said only two formal reservations were recorded during the vote-counting process.
Representation of the Diaspora
Among Algeria’s overseas electorate, 854,285 voters were registered, with turnout reaching 10.75%, corresponding to 81,091 voters.
The overseas vote produced 79,180 valid ballots, while 12,630 ballots were declared invalid and 46 votes were disputed. ANIE said no formal objections were recorded during the counting process abroad.
The authority also highlighted that parliamentary representation of the Algerian diaspora has increased from eight to twelve seats, with 54 electoral lists and 432 candidates competing for those mandates.
Appeals Process Begins
Following the announcement of the provisional results, ANIE reminded political parties and candidates that they have 48 hours to file appeals before the Constitutional Court in accordance with Algeria’s electoral law.
The Constitutional Court is the sole institution empowered to examine electoral appeals and officially proclaim the final results of the legislative elections.
Acting ANIE President Karim Khalfane thanked government institutions, technical partners and all stakeholders involved in organising the vote, expressing hope that the newly elected deputies would fulfil the responsibilities entrusted to them and respond to citizens’ expectations.
