University of Oran 2 Signs Strategic Partnerships with Two UK Institutions to Advance Internationalisation and English-Language Education
BY Dr. Hana Saada
Oran – The University of Oran 2 Mohamed Ben Ahmed has signed two cooperation agreements with leading British higher education institutions, reinforcing its international engagement strategy and accelerating efforts to expand English-language education and academic collaboration.
The first agreement was concluded with Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE) and signed by University Rector Prof. Ahmed Chaâlal and NILE Director Thom Kiddle. The partnership aims to strengthen academic, scientific and cultural exchanges while enhancing the professional development of academic and administrative staff through joint training, research and pedagogical cooperation.
A second agreement was signed with Canterbury Christ Church University by Prof. Ahmed Chaâlal and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Claire Ozanne. The partnership establishes a framework for collaboration in higher education, scientific research, student and staff mobility, and the organisation of joint academic and cultural initiatives.
The agreement also places particular emphasis on expanding English-language training, reflecting its growing role as a strategic pillar of the internationalisation of Algerian higher education and the development of globally competitive academic programmes.
The two partnerships form part of the University of Oran 2’s broader strategy to deepen international academic cooperation, strengthen institutional links with overseas universities and enhance the linguistic and professional competencies of its academic community.
