Djellaoui Pushes for Faster Completion of Infrastructure Projects, Cuts Delivery Deadlines

Djellaoui Calls for Accelerated Delivery of Public Works Projects, Shorter Implementation Timelines

Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure Abdelkader Djellaoui has called for a strict reduction in project delivery timelines across the sector, urging faster execution to ensure the timely commissioning of infrastructure schemes.

During a working visit to the province of Tébessa on Friday, Djellaoui underscored the need to accelerate ongoing public works, particularly as he launched the doubling project of National Road No. 83 over a 20-kilometre stretch between Hammamet and Bir Mokkadem, with an estimated investment of 3.5 billion dinars.

The minister inspected works at a rocky section in the Fedj El Gaâgaâ mountain bends, where he received a technical briefing on engineering challenges and mitigation measures. He instructed contractors to mobilise all human, material and technical resources to adhere strictly to deadlines.

Djellaoui also launched extension works on an under-tarmac structure at Cheikh Larbi Tebessi Airport, instructing the implementing company Sero-Est to reduce the completion deadline from six months to four.

Earlier in his visit, the minister reviewed progress on the eastern mining railway line, conveying presidential greetings to workers involved in major infrastructure companies, including Cosider Public Works, Cosider Structures, and SAPTA, while praising efforts to advance strategic national projects.
