Domestic Trade: Field Inspections to Stabilise Fruit and Vegetable Prices

Inspection teams under Algeria’s local commerce directorates have launched field visits across the country’s wilayas to monitor price movements in fruit and vegetable markets.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation, the operations, initiated in recent days, aim to track price developments in wholesale and retail markets and ensure compliance with applicable commercial laws and regulations.
The initiative is also part of broader efforts to monitor the supply of agricultural products and prevent practices that could disrupt market equilibrium or affect citizens’ purchasing power.
In coordination with stakeholders across the distribution chain, inspection officers are working to strengthen price transparency and ensure the continuous availability of goods under orderly and regulated market conditions.
