FLN Emerges as Largest Party in Algeria’s 2026 Legislative Elections with 90 Seats

Algiers — Algeria’s National Liberation Front (FLN) has emerged as the largest political force in the country’s 2 July 2026 legislative elections, securing 90 seats in the 407-member People’s National Assembly (APN), according to provisional results announced on Monday by the National Independent Election Authority (ANIE).
The results were presented during a press conference at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Centre (CIC) in Algiers by Karim Khelfane, Acting President of ANIE.
The National Democratic Rally (RND) finished second with 73 seats, followed by the Future Front (El Moustakbal Front) with 59 seats.
The Movement of Society for Peace (MSP) ranked fourth after winning 43 seats, while the El-Bina Movement secured 38 seats.
Independent candidates obtained 32 seats, maintaining a notable presence in the new legislature.
Further down the rankings, the Sawt Echaab Party won 17 seats, followed by the Socialist Forces Front (FFS) with 12 seats.
The Party of Liberty and Justice (PLJ) and El Fadjr El Djadid each secured six seats, while El Karama won five seats.
The Rally for Culture and Democracy (RCD) and the Front for Justice and Development (FJD) each obtained four seats.
Meanwhile, the Workers’ Party (PT), Jil Jadid, and Tajamou Amal El Djazaïr (TAJ) each won three seats, while the National Union for Development (UND) and the Ennahda Movement secured two seats apiece.
Five parties each obtained a single parliamentary seat: the Algerian Renewal Party (PRA), the Republican Alliance (AR), the New Algeria Front (FAN), the Front for Good Governance (FBG) and the Front of Free Citizens (FCL).

According to ANIE’s provisional figures, the FLN won 85 seats within Algeria and five seats representing the diaspora, while the RND secured 71 domestic seats and two overseas seats. El Moustakbal Front also captured 57 seats inside the country and two abroad, while the El-Bina Movement won 37 domestic seats and one diaspora seat. Independent candidates obtained 30 seats nationally and two seats representing Algerians abroad.
The provisional results mark the completion of the vote-counting phase of Algeria’s 2026 legislative elections, with the final composition of the People’s National Assembly to be confirmed following the completion of the legal electoral procedures.
