Sports Ministry, National Police Sign Cooperation Agreement to Promote Physical Activity
By Dr. Hana Saada
Algeria’s Ministry of Sports and the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) signed a framework partnership and cooperation agreement on Sunday aimed at promoting physical and sporting activities among personnel from both sectors, according to a ministry statement.

The agreement was signed at the Ministry of Sports headquarters in Algiers by Ministry Secretary-General Fouad Makhlouf and National Police Chief Ali Badaoui, in the presence of Sports Minister Walid Sadi and senior officials from both institutions.
The partnership seeks to establish an operational framework for coordination in areas including sports training and supervision, the organisation of sporting competitions and events, and the exchange of expertise and resources.
Authorities said the initiative forms part of broader state efforts to promote sport and strengthen institutional cooperation, while encouraging values linked to citizenship, discipline and teamwork.
The agreement also aims to expand participation in physical activity across different segments of society, in line with national policies promoting sport as a component of public health, prevention and social cohesion.
Both sides committed to implementing joint action programmes and organising regular sporting and training activities as part of the cooperation framework.
