Tebboune, Erdoğan Target $10 Billion In Algeria-Turkey Trade And Investment By 2030
BY Dr. Hana Saada
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said Thursday that Algeria and Turkey aim to raise bilateral trade and investment flows to $10 billion by 2030, following the first session of the Algerian-Turkish High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council co-chaired in Ankara with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Speaking after bilateral talks and the signing of multiple cooperation agreements, Tebboune said both countries agreed to diversify strategic cooperation beyond traditional trade into renewable energy, agriculture, industry, mining, culture and human exchange, while reactivating the Algerian-Turkish Business Forum to accelerate commercial and investment partnerships.
The Algerian president also confirmed the launch of negotiations on a preferential trade agreement covering selected goods, describing the initiative as a key mechanism for expanding bilateral economic integration and investment flows.
The visit reflects the continued expansion of Algerian-Turkish relations across industry, infrastructure, manufacturing and energy, with Ankara emerging as one of Algeria’s most active non-European economic partners.
On regional issues, Tebboune said discussions covered developments in the Gulf, the Middle East, Libya, the Sahel and Western Sahara, alongside coordination on conflict resolution and regional security.
He said Algeria and Turkey jointly condemned violations of international law and international humanitarian law by the Zionist occupation in Gaza and Lebanon, while reaffirming support for a just and lasting solution guaranteeing the Palestinian people’s right to an independent state.
Tebboune also denounced Zionist actions undermining Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, warning of broader risks to stability in the Horn of Africa.
The Algerian president said discussions with Erdoğan reflected both countries’ commitment to peaceful conflict resolution, political dialogue and respect for international legality as the basis for regional stability and strategic cooperation.
