Algeria Exports 20,000 Tonnes of White Cement to Guatemala via Annaba Port
BY Dr. Hana Saada
Algeria has exported 20,000 tonnes of white cement to Guatemala in a shipment loaded on Saturday at the port of Annaba, according to a statement from the port authority.
The cargo, packaged in jumbo bags, was loaded at quay 9 in an operation described as tightly coordinated, involving the mobilisation of logistical and human resources in cooperation with port operators. The loading was completed under controlled conditions and within what authorities described as reduced timeframes.
The export operation forms part of Algeria’s broader policy to expand non-hydrocarbon exports and support domestic producers in accessing international markets, including in Latin America.
The port authority said the operation highlights both the capacity of Annaba port to handle large-scale shipments and its role as a logistics platform within the Mediterranean basin. It also reflects ongoing efforts to position port infrastructure as a support mechanism for export diversification and external trade expansion.
