People’s National Assembly of Algeria Participates in ASGP Meetings in Istanbul

The Secretary-General of Algeria’s People’s National Assembly, Selim Djaâlal, took part in meetings of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP) held in Istanbul, Türkiye, on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), according to a statement issued by the lower house of Parliament.
Djaâlal, who is also a member of the ASGP Executive Committee, participated in sessions held over two days, 17 and 18 April, which focused on the functioning of parliamentary secretariats and the administrative structures supporting legislative institutions.
The discussions addressed themes including institutional innovation within parliaments, the strengthening of parliamentary resilience as a democratic institution, procedures for appointments within secretariats general, and the growing use of remote working in parliamentary administrations.
Participants also presented comparative experiences and national practices, highlighting different approaches to parliamentary governance and administrative modernisation across legislative systems.
