Algeria is participating in the 35th edition of the Doha International Book Fair, held from 14 to 23 May, as part of efforts by the Ministry of Culture and Arts, through the Algerian Agency for Cultural Outreach, to expand cultural cooperation and maintain its presence in regional literary and intellectual events.
The Algerian pavilion features 215 titles covering literature, thought, history and academic disciplines, published by 32 public and private publishing houses. The selection reflects the current output of Algeria’s publishing sector across multiple fields.
The programme includes a series of literary and intellectual sessions featuring Algerian writers, academics and cultural figures. Organisers said the event has also drawn participation from members of the Algerian community residing in Qatar.
The participation forms part of Algeria’s broader cultural diplomacy strategy aimed at promoting national publishing and strengthening cultural exchange within Arab cultural platforms.
