Algeria-Tunisia Rail Link Resumes As SNTF Unveils Fares And Timetable

ALGIERS – Algeria’s National Railway Transport Company (SNTF) has announced fares and operating schedules for the passenger rail service connecting Annaba and Tunis, marking the return of a cross-border route aimed at strengthening mobility and tourism links between the two neighbouring countries.
According to the operator, a round-trip ticket is priced at 3,485 Algerian dinars ($26) in first class and 3,040 dinars in second class.
Children under the age of four will travel free of charge, while those aged between four and 12 will benefit from a 50% fare reduction.
The train will depart from Annaba railway station every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 0900 local time, making scheduled stops in Souk Ahras, Ghardimaou, Jendouba and Béja before arriving in Tunis at approximately 1825.
The return service will leave Tunis station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 0825, with arrival in Annaba scheduled for 1820.
Border control procedures will be conducted at the international station of Souk Ahras on the Algerian side and at Ghardimaou station in Tunisia.
