Algeria’s “7.77” Digital Empowerment Programme Draws Over 64,000 Registrations

Algeria’s national digital empowerment programme “7.77” has attracted 64,508 registrations to date, according to a statement issued Thursday by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications.

The ministry said 51,739 participants, or 80.4% of the total, opted for online training via the digital platform, while 12,769 chose in-person sessions.

Artificial intelligence emerged as the most sought-after specialisation, with 19,691 registrations, closely followed by digital productivity tools with 19,576. Other fields included cybersecurity with 9,678 registrations, digital entrepreneurship with 9,083, and introductory digital skills with 8,237.

Age distribution shows the 23–45 group as the largest cohort with 39,578 participants, followed by the 18–22 age group with 13,144. Children aged 7–10 accounted for 3,199 registrations, while 181 participants were aged between 61 and 77.

Regionally, Algiers led with 15,221 registrations, followed by Oran, Blida, Sétif and Batna. Arabic remained the preferred training language with 37,889 participants, ahead of French (13,488) and English (13,131).

The ministry also announced that applications are open for trainers wishing to join the programme via the official platform.
