Algiers Prepares Summer Season And School Exams As Authorities Tighten Coordination
BY Dr. Hana Saada
Algiers’ Wali and Minister Mohamed Abdennour Rabehi chaired a meeting of the executive council focused on preparations for the 2026 summer season and end-of-year school exams, the local authorities said.
Discussions covered beach organisation and maintenance, access routes, forest and urban facilities, swimming pools, and transport services to coastal areas, alongside extended operating hours during peak season.
Rabehi instructed officials to ensure full operational readiness and coordination across services, according to the statement.
Authorities also reviewed wildfire prevention measures, including maintenance of forest tracks, construction of watchtowers and reinforcement of surveillance systems, with emphasis on rapid response readiness and public awareness campaigns.
Preparations for school examinations were also assessed, including implementation of previous recommendations and readiness of exam centres. The wali ordered the removal of remaining deficiencies and called for logistical arrangements, including transport and catering, to ensure smooth conduct of the exams.
