Algeria’s Investment Promotion Agency Head Joins WAIPA Steering Committee Talks Ahead of Global Forum

Omar Rekkache, head of Algeria’s Investment Promotion Agency, took part on Tuesday in a steering committee meeting of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), held by videoconference.
The meeting focused on preparations for the 30th World Investment Conference, scheduled for November 2026 in Geneva.
Rekkache reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting WAIPA’s efforts to ensure the success of the event, aimed at strengthening international cooperation and advancing global investment promotion policies.
Discussions also covered regional initiatives led by steering committee members, including an event to be hosted by Algeria in its capacity as WAIPA’s regional director for the Middle East and North Africa.
Rekkache outlined plans for a regional meeting of investment promotion agencies from the MENA region, set to take place in Algeria in September 2026. The event will focus on sharing expertise and best practices, while promoting an impact-based approach to investment.
It is also expected to strengthen regional coordination, support improvements in the business climate and encourage foreign direct investment aligned with national and regional priorities.
