The opening of AZ Mall Grand Mosta marks one of western Algeria’s largest private investment projects, combining retail, entertainment and hospitality facilities in a development expected to generate more than 1,500 jobs while strengthening Mostaganem’s position as an emerging commercial and tourism hub.

ALGIERS — Algeria has inaugurated one of its largest integrated retail and leisure developments with the opening of AZ Mall Grand Mosta in the coastal province of Mostaganem, a private investment project designed to boost regional economic activity, create employment and reinforce the city’s appeal as a commercial and tourism destination.
Developed by AZ Group, the waterfront complex brings together retail, entertainment, hospitality and lifestyle facilities under one roof, reflecting the country’s broader efforts to encourage private investment and diversify local economies beyond traditional sectors.
The project is expected to create more than 1,500 direct and indirect jobs during its initial phase while stimulating commercial activity and attracting visitors from across Algeria.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, AZ Group Chief Executive Officer Ramadan Saadoun described the development as a modern economic and investment landmark built to international standards, saying it reflects the group’s commitment to supporting Algeria’s economic transformation through high-quality national investment projects.
The complex houses more than 180 retail outlets featuring local and international brands, alongside a fully integrated supermarket offering food products, household goods and consumer electronics.
Its leisure facilities include an indoor amusement park, dedicated children’s entertainment areas, electronic gaming centres and a modern indoor karting circuit, complemented by a cinema complex, fitness and wellness facilities, beauty salons, and a wide range of restaurants serving both international and traditional Algerian cuisine.
The mall also incorporates spaces dedicated to traditional crafts, providing local artisans with a platform to showcase and market their products while promoting Algeria’s cultural heritage.
Saadoun said the project forms part of AZ Group’s long-term strategy to contribute to national investment and support the economic momentum underway in Algeria through the delivery of internationally benchmarked developments.
He also acknowledged the support provided by local authorities throughout the project’s implementation, expressing particular appreciation to the Governor of Mostaganem for facilitating its completion.
The opening of AZ Mall Grand Mosta represents a significant addition to western Algeria’s retail infrastructure and is expected to strengthen Mostaganem’s role as a regional destination for shopping, entertainment and tourism while contributing to local employment and private-sector growth.
