Boutbig: “Africa’s Future Will Be Built Through the Unity of Its Peoples”

Pan-African Parliament (PAP) President Fateh Boutbig said Tuesday his election to head the continental body reflected Algeria’s growing standing at both African and international levels and its role in defending African causes and advancing continental integration.
Speaking after being received in Algiers by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Boutbig stated that his election was “not a personal consecration” but recognition of Algeria’s position and leadership within Africa.
Boutbig affirmed that African integration must be grounded in respect for state sovereignty, strengthened cooperation and sustainable, inclusive development serving African peoples, adding that Algeria continues to support peace, dialogue, development and continental integration efforts.
He further stressed that Africa’s future “is built through the unity of its peoples” and through “a fair and balanced partnership capable of preserving the dignity and interests of nations.”
The PAP president also thanked President Tebboune for Algeria’s continued support for the objectives of the Pan-African Parliament, the African Union and broader aspirations for a more stable and prosperous continent.
