NESDA, VMS Industrie partner to integrate micro-enterprises into industrial value chains
Algeria’s entrepreneurship agency and VMS Industrie have signed a strategic partnership aimed at expanding subcontracting opportunities for micro-enterprises, supporting local manufacturing and reducing import dependence through stronger industrial integration.

ALGIERS — Algeria’s National Agency for Entrepreneurship Support and Development (NESDA) and VMS Industrie have signed a strategic partnership designed to strengthen the integration of micro-enterprises into industrial value chains, as part of broader efforts to expand local production and reduce reliance on imports.
The agreement, signed in Béjaïa by NESDA Director General Bilal Achacha and VMS Industrie Chief Executive Abdelkrim Saigh, reflects the agency’s strategy of fostering partnerships with national industrial operators to promote subcontracting and deepen domestic industrial integration.
Expanding subcontracting opportunities
The partnership is intended to create new business opportunities for micro-enterprises across several industrial activities, including mechanical manufacturing, the production of bicycle and motorcycle components, plastic injection moulding, foam manufacturing, industrial sewing, maintenance and logistics.
According to NESDA, the initiative forms part of a wider policy to strengthen local supply chains by connecting small businesses with major industrial manufacturers, thereby supporting domestic production while contributing to lower import costs.
From business creation to business growth
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Achacha said the agreement reflects NESDA’s evolving role, shifting beyond supporting business creation towards helping existing enterprises achieve long-term growth, competitiveness and sustainability.
He described the partnership as an example of effective public-private cooperation capable of strengthening local industrial integration and supporting Algeria’s economic diversification objectives.
Saigh reaffirmed VMS Industrie’s commitment to providing technical expertise and operational support to participating micro-enterprises, with the aim of expanding subcontracting activities, increasing local content and reinforcing the competitiveness of Algerian-made products.
The signing ceremony also saw the conclusion of several subcontracting contracts between VMS Industrie and local micro-enterprises, enabling their immediate integration into the company’s production network.
NESDA said the agreements represent a practical step towards embedding small enterprises within national industrial supply chains while creating new opportunities for sustainable business development and value creation across Algeria’s manufacturing sector.
