President Tebboune Begins Germany Visit with More Than 30 Agreements and Strategic Partnership in Focus
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has begun a two-day official visit to Germany aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, expanding strategic cooperation and advancing economic partnerships, with an Algerian-German business forum expected to conclude with the signing of more than 30 agreements across key sectors.

ALGIERS — Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Tuesday began a two-day official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany at the invitation of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in a trip aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, expanding strategic cooperation and injecting new momentum into one of Algeria’s principal European partnerships.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic, the visit reflects the shared determination of both countries’ leaders to reinforce their longstanding friendship while broadening cooperation across multiple sectors of mutual interest.
During the visit, Tebboune is scheduled to hold talks with President Steinmeier and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, focusing on enhancing historical ties between Algeria and Germany and exploring avenues for upgrading bilateral cooperation through the revitalization of existing institutional mechanisms and the development of a broader strategic partnership.
The visit also includes a meeting between the Algerian president and members of the Algerian community residing in Germany, during which Tebboune is expected to hear their concerns and discuss issues affecting the diaspora.
Economic cooperation expected to feature prominently
Running alongside the official visit, an Algerian-German Economic Forum will bring together senior government officials, business leaders and investors from both countries to explore new investment opportunities and deepen commercial cooperation.
According to the Presidency, the forum is expected to culminate in the announcement of a strategic partnership between Algeria and Germany, alongside the signing of more than 30 cooperation agreements covering a broad range of sectors.
The planned agreements are expected to focus on hydrocarbons, renewable energy, the energy transition, pharmaceutical manufacturing, processing industries and advanced technologies, reflecting the growing importance of economic diversification and industrial cooperation in the bilateral relationship.
The visit comes as Algeria continues to strengthen partnerships with major European economies while seeking to expand foreign investment, technology transfer and industrial collaboration in support of its broader economic development strategy.
