Tebboune Receives Niger Interior Minister for High-Level Security and Cooperation Talks

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received on Tuesday Niger’s Minister of State for Interior, Public Security and Territorial Administration, Division General Mohamed Toumba, along with an accompanying delegation, for high-level talks in Algiers.
The audience was attended on the Algerian side by senior government and security officials, including Brahim Merad, Minister of State in charge of the General Inspectorate of State and Local Authorities; Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Affairs and National Community Abroad; Saïd Sayoud, Minister of Interior, Local Assemblies and Transport; and presidential adviser Amar Abba.
Also present were Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries; Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies; Major-General Sid Ahmed Berroumana, Commander of the National Gendarmerie; Ali Badaoui, Director General of National Security; Abded Hallouz, Director General of the Algerian Agency for International Cooperation for Solidarity and Development; and Algeria’s ambassador to Niger, Ahmed Saadi.
On the Nigerien side, the delegation included senior security, defence and government officials, among them Colonel-Major Ahmed Sidian, High Commander of the National Guard; Police Commissioner General Ebankawel Assahaba, Director General of the National Police; Bakary Yaou Sangaré, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad; Colonel Mahaman Elhadj Ousmane, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock; and Minister of Energy Mme Amadou Haoua.
The discussions underscored the breadth of bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Niger across security, defence, energy, agriculture and institutional coordination.
