ALGIERS – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kamel Baddari chaired a coordination meeting on Monday afternoon at the headquarters of his department to assess the level of preparedness of university structures and services ahead of the 2026–2027 academic year.
The meeting was attended by several ministry officials, the official in charge of managing the National Office of University Services (ONOU), directors of university services in Algiers, as well as the official responsible for digitalisation within the office.
The meeting focused in particular on the readiness of structures responsible for supporting students ahead of the new academic year, with particular attention given to the quality and availability of various university services.
Baddari also reviewed measures undertaken to digitalise university services, an increasingly central component of efforts to modernise the management of university services and facilitate students’ access to the services available to them.
Through the coordination meeting, the ministry seeks to ensure optimal mobilisation among the various stakeholders and anticipate potential difficulties, with a view to guaranteeing a smooth start to the new academic year and strengthening the quality of support provided to the student community.
The initiative forms part of Algeria’s broader efforts to continue modernising the higher education sector, particularly through digital transformation, improved university services and the development of a more efficient environment for students.
