ALGIERS – The political race in the municipality of Bourkika, Tipaza Province, appears to be taking shape early, with the name of Ahmed Semmar increasingly circulating in local discussions as one of the area’s sons known to residents through his involvement in charitable initiatives and his support for families in need.
A native of a well-known popular neighbourhood, Semmar is described as a modest figure who maintains close ties with citizens. He has completed the third year of secondary education in natural sciences and is a member of the bureau of the Chenoua Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He currently also serves as head of the Provincial Office of the Traders and Craftsmen Association in Tipaza Province.
His supporters describe him as “the right man in the right place,” arguing that his experience in community and commercial activities, together with his direct relationship with citizens, could qualify him to lead the Bourkika People’s Communal Assembly (APC).
As names continue to circulate and expectations grow, the final decision will ultimately rest with citizens and the ballot box.
