Civil Protection Director-General Reviews Specialized Teams’ Operational Readiness in Saïda
Algeria’s Civil Protection chief, Colonel Boualem Bourelaf, has inspected the operational readiness of specialized teams and the firefighting response system in Saïda Province, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen prevention, field coordination and emergency response capabilities.

ALGIERS – The Director-General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Bourelaf, conducted a working visit to Saïda Province on Tuesday to assess the operational readiness of specialized teams and review the province’s firefighting response system, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport.
The visit forms part of the State’s ongoing efforts to strengthen prevention and protection mechanisms and consolidate response and intervention capabilities in dealing with different types of risks, the ministry said.
It was also carried out in line with directives issued by Interior, Local Authorities and Transport Minister Saïd Sayoud, aimed at ensuring the highest levels of operational readiness and efficiency across Algeria’s provinces.
Field readiness and proactive intervention
The visit also forms part of the authorities’ permanent field monitoring efforts, with a focus on strengthening coordination and promoting proactive intervention to enhance the effectiveness of the Civil Protection system.
According to the ministry, the approach is intended to ensure rapid and effective responses to emergencies while strengthening the protection of lives and property.
