Education Ministry Extends Deadlines for Inter-Wilaya Teacher Transfers
Teachers seeking transfers between wilayas can submit applications or regularise existing requests ahead of the 2026–2027 school year

ALGIERS – The Ministry of National Education has announced an extension of the deadlines for submitting applications for transfers outside the wilaya, commonly referred to as “wilaya entry and exit” transfers, for the 2026–2027 school year.
The measure concerns tenured teachers across the primary, middle and secondary education cycles who wish to join an educational institution in another wilaya, subject to the availability of vacant budgeted positions in the wilayas concerned.
According to the ministry, the procedure is open to tenured teachers who are actively serving and wish to request a transfer outside their current institution or administrative assignment.
Two deadlines depending on teachers’ situation
Teachers who have not yet submitted a transfer request will have until August 15, 2026 to do so through their personal account on the ministry’s dedicated information system, the “Ostadh” platform.
A further period has been scheduled from August 20 to 24, 2026, for applications for transfers outside the wilaya under the “wilaya entry and exit” procedure.
Teachers who previously submitted applications during the earlier period will also be able to review their personal and professional information and, where necessary, address any reservations or correct observations recorded in their files.
The extension is intended to allow concerned teachers to regularise their situations and complete their applications within the established deadlines, subject to the vacant positions available for the 2026–2027 academic year.
