Sayoud Orders Faster Digitalisation of Interior Ministry Services, Flags Gaps in Vehicle Registration and Civil Status Systems
The Interior Minister calls for immediate action to address shortcomings affecting citizen-facing digital services, with vehicle registration documents and civil-status records among the systems placed under review.

ALGIERS — Interior Minister Saïd Sayoud has ordered an acceleration of the ministry’s digital transformation programme and immediate action to address shortcomings affecting key citizen-facing services, particularly vehicle registration documents and civil-status records.
Sayoud chaired a working session Monday evening at the Government Palace with ministry officials responsible for digitalisation, focusing on the progress of the sector’s digital transformation and the implementation of its various digital systems.
The meeting followed directives from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to accelerate digital transformation across government and strengthen interoperability between public-sector systems, with the objective of improving the performance of public services and making them more accessible to citizens.
Particular attention was given to digital systems directly linked to services used by citizens, including vehicle registration documents and civil-status services. Officials also reviewed shortcomings and operational gaps, particularly those that could affect the continuity and quality of public services.
Sayoud instructed officials to address identified deficiencies immediately and accelerate corrective measures, while maintaining continuous oversight of the various digital projects and systems and completing the related work within established deadlines.
The minister stressed that citizens’ concerns must remain at the centre of the administration’s priorities, calling for effective responses and continued efforts to improve the quality of public services.
He also called for closer coordination and integration between the various departments and structures responsible for digitalisation, urging officials to mobilise available resources and work against clear deadlines with measurable results.
