Algeria Secures Full Bluefin Tuna Quota at 2,467 Tonnes for 2026–2028

Algeria has secured its full historical share of bluefin tuna in international waters, with the quota set at 2,467 tonnes for the 2026–2028 period, according to Yacine El Mahdi Oualid.
The minister said a dedicated allocation will also be reserved for the artisanal fishing segment, as part of efforts to support smaller operators within the sector.
The announcement was made during a meeting held to review concerns raised by industry professionals and to examine measures aimed at supporting wealth creation and improving the investment climate in the fisheries sector.
