Algeria, Turkey Signal Parliamentary Deepening as Boughali Meets Turkish Assembly Speaker in Istanbul

The Speaker of Algeria’s People’s National Assembly, Brahim Boughali, was received on Saturday in Istanbul by the Speaker of Türkiye’s Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The meeting took place within the framework of parliamentary diplomacy and provided an opportunity to review the state of bilateral relations between Algeria and Türkiye, with both sides reaffirming their willingness to strengthen cooperation across various fields.
Discussions focused on enhancing coordination and consultation between the two legislative institutions. Both parties underlined the importance of reinforcing parliamentary relations through more structured exchanges and sustained dialogue.
The two sides also reviewed aspects of bilateral cooperation, stressing the need to further develop parliamentary engagement in ways that serve mutual interests and reflect the existing level of political relations between the two countries.
Attention was also given to coordination within international parliamentary forums, particularly the Inter-Parliamentary Union, where both parties highlighted the importance of continued consultation on issues of common interest.
The Algerian delegation included senior parliamentary officials and members of the Council of the Nation.
