Algeria Details Digitalized Eid Sacrifice Purchase System via National Platform

Algeria has set out the operational framework for purchasing Eid sacrifice livestock through the national platform adhahi.dz, introducing a digitised, traceable and appointment-based system designed to streamline distribution and ensure transparency.
Once registered on the platform, citizens receive an SMS notification specifying the date, time and designated sales point closest to their place of residence. Allocation is managed in chronological order of registration, taking into account availability across wilayas and distribution sites.
At the sales level, buyers are offered the possibility of selecting their animal directly on site. Each purchase is then digitally recorded through the scanning of a QR code attached to the animal’s tag, linking it to the buyer’s identification data.
Payment options include cash, bank card transactions or electronic payment, with incentives introduced to encourage digital transactions.
Authorities said all livestock have been carefully selected and subjected to veterinary inspection prior to sale, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
The system, officials added, aims to reinforce transparency, improve organisation and ensure equitable access, in line with presidential directives to make Eid sacrifices available at accessible prices for citizens.
