ALGIERS — Algeria’s Constitutional Court announced on Thursday that it will proclaim the final results of the country’s legislative elections on Saturday, 18 July, at 1:00 p.m. local time, completing the constitutional process following this month’s parliamentary vote.

In a statement, the Court said the announcement would be made in accordance with Article 191 of the Constitution and Article 211 of Organic Law No. 21-01 of 10 March 2021, governing Algeria’s electoral system, as amended.

The proclamation will formally confirm the composition of the People’s National Assembly (APN) after the Court reviews appeals and validates the provisional results issued by the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE).

According to the provisional results announced by Karim Khelfane, acting president of ANIE, the National Liberation Front (FLN) secured the largest share of seats with 90, followed by the National Democratic Rally (RND) with 73 seats.

El Moustakbal Front placed third with 59 seats, while the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP) won 43 seats and the El Bina Movement secured 38.

Independent candidates obtained 32 seats, maintaining a notable presence in the incoming legislature.

The Constitutional Court’s announcement on Saturday will establish the official and final distribution of parliamentary seats, concluding the electoral process and paving the way for the formation of the new legislature in accordance with Algeria’s constitutional procedures.
